WELCOME BACK!

To all the Dunedin’ students newly returned to this fine metropolis of the South – welcome back! We hope you’ll pop in and say hi sometime, as we know you’ll appreciate our ethos AND our gorgeous products.

To everybody, just wanted to say that we will be swapping over to the newly beautified website with online store, in a matter of days (fingers crossed!). So please stick around while we get the last bits in place.

  Good news!

We are working on setting up an online store on this site.

We’ve noticed that fairtrade clothes options are not only lacking (i.e. nonexistent!) in Dunedin, but all over New Zealand. For example, there is only one other place in the country, as far as we know, that stocks fairtrade sneakers (it’s in Auckland).

We want people all across this fine land to be able to shop ethically for beautiful fashion! So wish us luck and will let you know when it’s all ready to go!

‘Tis the season!

The holiday season is upon us, and at The Cuckoo’s Nest we have been making-merry with heaps of specials (including free cookies, a draw to win a steampunk necklace, and our ’12 days of Christmas’) and lots of new stock.

Our little nest now has clothes, shoes & jewellery from 5 different fair trade co-ops/suppliers, and 16 talented New Zealand crafters & emerging designers, as well as a range of hand-picked, top quality vintage items.

We have had another reason to celebrate as well, with our film about ethical shopping winning some national prizes and getting us into the ODT again.

We are loving seeing all your shining faces in-store! Keep visiting us, and enjoy your Christmas!

What a whirlwind and exciting week!

The Cuckoo’s Nest is now OPEN… we hope you will pop by and see the beautiful little nest we have created…  just full of wonderful fair trade, vintage and NZ-made treasures!

Thanks to all who have pitched in to pull everything together for opening day.

We were lucky enough to be featured in the ODT with a nice big picture, too.
